Yes, in most cases a new key made with the MBE KR55 will require both mechanical cutting and electronic programming. The KR55 is a key programming tool and the kits include programmable flip keys, so the new key still needs the blade cut to match the vehicle’s lock, then the chip/remote functions must be programmed to the vehicle.
