No, you do not normally have to calibrate the HPC-H-1200MAX / CodeMax every time you use it. The CodeMax manual says no readjustment of spacing is required when changing from one depth and spacing specification to another, and that the need to readjust the space is rare. It is designed to allow electronic calibration, but that is more of a setup or correction procedure than a routine step before each job.
In general, calibration is only needed if the machine starts miscutting, after certain service work, or if gauge/cutter alignment is off. The manual specifically points to recalibration only after more common causes of bad cuts have been ruled out.
