Dealership programming is not required, but the LTQSAAM433TX remote for a Saab 9-3 does require professional programming. There is no standard onboard DIY programming procedure for this remote, so it must be programmed with Saab-compatible equipment, commonly a Tech 2 or equivalent tool. A qualified automotive locksmith with Saab programming capability will be able to do it instead of the dealer.
