A must-have tool for all locksmiths. Used to "move over" an existing 2-3/8" backset hole to 2-3/4" or 2-3/4" to 2-3/8" or to correct a mis-drilled hole. The HIT-23 attatches by screwing into the existing latch faceplate mortise. A standard hole saw (not supplied) can then be guided to correct the bore. The HIT-23 is supplied with a drill blank to replace the hole saw pilot bit to reduce wear on the guide holes.

Looks solid, wish I already had it while ago

I recently received this Hit-23, but by the time I ordered & received, I had to pursue other options to solve my situation. I do look forward to trying it out on some scrap wood I have before next customer door. Construction and instructions are good, remove the pilot bit from your hole saw, use slow speed on drill so you don't weld the alignment pin.
