The VN004 is a special function dedicated to reading the internal configuration of any EDC17/ MED17 ECUs. This function allows the reading of the Configuration Data (EEPROM), Internal Flash, and External Flash of these units, allows you to modify them and create dump files ready for adaptation from one vehicle to another, it has the ability to read the mileage from the EDC/MED 17 and change it according to the vehicle. The function is not limited to VAG vehicles and can be used on other brands utilizing the Bosch MED/ EDC 17 Motor Electronics.

- Full access to the memory through boot-mode (CAN bus)
- Read/Update EDC17/MED17 EEPROM/flash memory
- Read PIN/CS/MAC
- Make immobilizer bypass ( in the EEPROM and in the flash)
- Recalibration of control unit mileage for ECUs - EDC17/MED17
- Transfer PIN/CS/MAC from one EDC17/MED17 to another
- Fix the checksums in flash.
- It is strongly recommended that you use the ZN051 Distribution Box when working with the VN004 special function in order to be able to toggle between BOOT MODE and Diagnostic mode which is very helpful for working with EDC17/ MED17
- This function includes all of the features of the following function: AN054
